Next Gen Make It 9-In-A-Row
03 June 26
The Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen took on Team Bath at home last Saturday, determined to make amends after their previous loss to Team Bath earlier in the season.
The opening quarter proved challenging for the Birmingham Panthers, with a shaky start and several forced errors. However, the team regrouped and found their rhythm, heading into halftime with a narrow 34-31 lead.
The second half saw the Birmingham Panthers elevate their intensity and capitalise on their momentum. Strong defensive pressure and clinical finishing across the court allowed them to extend their lead and close out the match 71-62, securing an impressive ninth consecutive win.
The shooting circle was dominant throughout the contest, with Emma Barrie and Ane de Wet playing crucial roles in the victory. Barrie was awarded Opposition Player of the Match, while de Wet earned both Coaches Player of the Match and Players’ Player of the Match honours.
The Birmingham Panthers now head into a bye weekend before returning for their final two matches of the 2026 season. With momentum firmly on their side, the Panthers will be looking to continue their remarkable run and make it 10 straight wins.
