Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen took on Leeds Rhinos on Friday ahead of the NSL fixture. Following a tough loss to the London Mavericks the previous week, the Birmingham Panthers were determined to finish their season on a high.

The first quarter was a closely contested battle, with the Birmingham Panthers taking a narrow 14-13 lead into the first break. The second quarter saw the team lift their intensity, combining a dominant defensive performance with composed attacking play to extend their lead and head into halftime ahead 30-23.

Having suffered a defeat to Leeds Rhinos’ earlier in the season, the club were motivated to make amends. The second half delivered an exciting contest, but Birmingham Panthers settled and the attacking unit produced an outstanding third quarter, stretching the lead to 44-30.

The Birmingham Panthers remained in control for much of the match and secured an impressive 58-46 victory. The defensive end was instrumental in the win, with Alyssa Rose earning both Coaches’ Player of the Match and Opposition Player of the Match honours, while Caitlin O’Sullivan was voted Players’ Player of the Match.

It has been an incredible season for Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen, securing third place in the league with 11 wins from their campaign. With a talented young squad continuing to develop and impress throughout the season, the future looks exceptionally bright for the Birmingham Panthers.
