17 April 26

The Birmingham Panthers U17 NPL side took on Loughborough Lightning at Loughborough University last Saturday in their final game of the season. Following an already impressive campaign, the team entered the match with quiet confidence, aiming to close out their season with another strong performance.

After a slow start in the first quarter, trailing 13-14, the Birmingham Panthers found their rhythm and turned the momentum in the second. Heading into half-time with a 29-24 lead, they carried that energy into the second half, delivering a dominant display across the final two quarters. A commanding 17-goal final quarter sealed an emphatic 61-36 victory.

There was even more to celebrate, with several players recognised for their outstanding performances. Macy Ranson was awarded Opposition Player of the Match, while Lily Field received both Coaches’ Player and Players’ Player awards highlighting the bright future ahead for these talented athletes.

While the season may have come to an end, the strength and consistency shown by the Birmingham Panthers U17s leaves plenty of excitement for what lies ahead next year.
