The Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen continued their strong run of form last Saturday, securing another victory at home against Nottingham Forest in an exciting contest.

Heading into the match with five consecutive wins, the Birmingham Panthers carried a quiet confidence and were determined to build on their momentum. They made a solid start, winning the first quarter 16-14, but faced a tougher challenge in the second. Nottingham Forest fought back to take control, sending the Birmingham Panthers into half-time trailing 28-32.

The half-time break proved crucial, giving the team a chance to regroup and identify where they could regain control. A series of positional changes and the introduction of fresh legs sparked a shift in momentum, and the Birmingham Panthers came out firing in the second half.

The final two quarters showcased an excellent all-round performance, combining strong defensive pressure with fluid, composed attacking play. By the final whistle, the Birmingham Panthers had reclaimed the lead and secured a 63-58 victory, marking an impressive six wins in a row.

There were several standout performances across the court. Makeda Thomas was named Opposition Player of the Match and shared Coaches’ Player of the Match honours with Emma Barrie. Thomas also shared Players’ Player of the Match with Rheanna Thomas-Grant, capping off an exceptional performance with a clean sweep of all three awards.

The Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen will now look to extend their streak to seven as they take on London Pulse this Saturday at Worcester Arena.
