NXT Gen Claim Another Nail-Biting Win

The Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen were back on home court last Saturday, taking on the London Pulse in a crucial clash as both sides push for a top-four finish.
It was a tight contest from the first whistle. The Birmingham Panthers edged ahead in the first quarter, leading 16-13, but the London Pulse fought back to level the scores at 31-31 by halftime. The Birmingham Panthers responded well after the break, regaining control to take a six-goal lead into the final quarter at 52-46, setting up an exciting finish.
Both ends of the court delivered, with defensive pressure and attacking precision on full display. The Birmingham Panthers dug deep as a unit, showing composure and resilience to hold off a fast-finishing London Pulse side and secure a thrilling one-goal victory, 64-63.
The win was a testament to the team’s determination, with standout performances recognised across the board. Alyssa Rose was named Players’ Player, while Emma Barrie earned Opposition Player of the Match honours. Both players also shared the Coaches’ Player of the Match award, each proving a dominant force at their respective ends of the court.
With just four games remaining, the Birmingham Panthers NXT Gen now turn their attention to Manchester Thunder, whom they face this Monday at 1:45pm.
