Birmingham Panthers Announce Ellen Withington’s Permanent Promotion to NSL Squad

The Birmingham Panthers Netball franchise is delighted to confirm that Ellen Withington, a standout performer from the NXT Gen programme, will be stepping up permanently into the club’s NSL squad, taking the place of long-serving player Gabby Marshall.
Throughout the season, Ellen has impressed coaches, teammates, and supporters alike with her dynamic performances, and versatility. Having seamlessly integrated into the
NSL environment and delivered strong performances at training; she is now set to make a lasting impact at the top level of the sport.
Head Coach Jo Trip expressed her confidence in Ellen’s readiness for this next step:
“Ellen has delivered consistently strong performances for NXT Gen and has been actively developing within the NSL environment throughout the season. She is an exciting young talent who contributes effectively to both our defensive and attacking structures. Her dedication, work ethic, and team-first mindset make her a valuable addition to our squad, and she has thoroughly earned this opportunity.”
Reflecting on her promotion, Ellen shared:
