Birmingham Panthers Confirm Injury to Tiana Metuarau

23 April 26

Following specialist consultation, it has been confirmed that Tiana will undergo a surgical procedure for a hip labral tear, ruling her out for the rest of the season as she begins her rehabilitation process.

Tiana shared her thoughts on the news:
“It hits me in waves honestly. moments when I really start to miss my family in this situation because I don’t want to burden my teammates. I moved here to enjoy playing netball again. although that’s been cut short, I’ve made so much progress. It’s bittersweet but I’m ready to get to work and get stuck into rehab.”

Head Coach Sonia Mkoloma added:
“Tiana has been a key part of our group this season, and it’s tough to lose her on court. Our priority now is making sure she has the best possible support through surgery and rehab.”

The Birmingham Panthers will closely manage Tiana’s rehabilitation and provide full support throughout her recovery, with the aim of returning her to the court as soon as it is safe to do so.

We thank our fans for their continued support and encourage everyone to join us in wishing Tiana a smooth and successful recovery.
